My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the Pigeon and his efforts to drive the truck. Even Grandpa, Mommy and Daddy enjoyed it. Autumn was soon "reading" it by herself. This story hits a little closer to home as we heard Pigeon making some of the same excuses Autumn makes to stay up late. We laughed and laughed! This book gets a multi-generational, whole family recommendation. Thank you!

This book (or one of the many others) are read to Kindergarten child throughout my cities public schools. Fun book. There's kind of a yell that kids get to do. They get so excited and I never knew that this yelling or excitement was actually helping them read. Get one of these for yours, I bought this one for my 2nd grader who is a bit older but again, a classic! I am going to collect them all. I hear her in her room (forgetting all about indoor voice) reading this book still!!!
As with all the Pigeon books so far, this one is wonderful. It's seemingly simplistic writing and illustrations make it easy for children of all ages to enjoy. I say seemingly simplistic because there is always a small lesson behind the words. AND what is nice about the pigeon's lesson's is they are not shoved down your throat. The reader also gets to participate with the book by being able to tell the pigeon "NO" with each question or statement made by the pigeon.

I teach elementary school and not only do the kinder kids love the book, the fifth graders do, too. I also read these books to my 10 month old baby. I also buy these books as gifts for friends' kids.

These pigeon books are really quite brilliant children's books.
My son loves the Don't let the Pigeon books and he LOVES this one as well. We find them to be great not just for young readers but they're short enough for toddlers to listen to as well. Always a laugh with Pigeon!
We love reading this book to our son! Without fail, my son brings Mo willem's book at least 3x a week! We have all his collection. It's fun and captures the attention of our toddler.
Most books give some help to sooth the notion of sleep and or nap time. This is a shameless dedicated long fun discussion about bedtime. The illustrations are simple and it’s not a timeless classic tale. But a modern pragmatic tool. So I could give it 5 for accomplishing its purpose. But the four star is for its narrow direct approach.
My grandkids already know the pigeon from previous books and they loved this one just as much. Silly pictures, silly pigeon, thinking up all kinds of reasons he doesn't need to go to bed yet. Kids will relate! I bought it for the 18 month old, but the 9 and 12 year olds love it just as much.
I am a volunteer reading tutor for a second grader. I purchased this book to read with my student. Perfect book to engage young readers. We had fun taking turns playing the character of the pigeon as we read. I really found this book to be helpful in teaching my student to read phrases instead of reading one word at a time. Also a great book to practice reading with expression. Story and illustrations are creative and captivating. All around fun reading experience. Mission accomplished!
