Major disappointment for me. I can see that I'm in the minority, and I'm kinda surprised. I love Sheridan's books, and I love rereading them! I especially love her guys. She has a way of writing them that make them so swoonworthy! But this guy was a big jerk! It wasn't until 70% that he finally committed to Kira and stopped thinking snarky thoughts about her! Come on! I'm not used to that from Sheridan's heroes. Asher? Calder? Kyland? They were damaged but they were kind. This guy takes forever to think nicely about Kira, then at the first problem, does an about face and says really hurtful things. And he NEVER has to grovel!! He either doesn't even try, or else she caves right away!! It had a sweet ending, but too little too late. I will never reread this - too painful. I'm gonna go look up Calder)
It had been ages since I last read a Mia Sheridan novel. When Chan suggested this book for our next buddy read (a buddy read I again really enjoyed), I agreed. I’ve wanted to read Grayson’s Vow for a few months now, so I was super excited to read it. This book was everything I expected and more. There are so many things I loved about this book! I can’t believe I waited this long to read it. This book is emotional, beautiful, unique, poignant and sweet. It ends with a beautiful and adorable epilogue. I’ll definitely reread Grayson’s Vow!

I love Grayson and Kira so much! Grayson wasn’t easy to like in the beginning, but that changed when I got to know him better. His life hasn’t been easy and he’s struggling now, and that makes him closed off and not-so-friendly. But he’s also very determined and strong. The vineyard is Grayson’s focus and he definitely isn’t looking for love when Kira enters his life. Grayson slowly changed and that was so beautiful to read. He really deserves all the happiness and love he has at the end. It won’t be easy to get to that ending, but it will all be worth it.

Kira is feisty, determined, caring, strong, honest, sweet and loving. When she wants something, she will do anything for that. She’s not like every other rich girl. She’s get along great with the people who work for Grayson. She’s kind to everybody. Kira is attracted to Grayson when she sees him, but Grayson keeps his distance. But she doesn’t give up easily. Kira challenges Grayson and she’s patient with him. Kira is perfect for Grayson. She loves him unconditionally. I adored Kira and Grayson together!

Grayson’s past was really heart-breaking. Everything he’d suffered through though had shaped him into a bitter, arrogant man who trusted no one. He’d been wounded so many times that his hurt and the walls he’d built around himself had almost become a part of who he was.

This is when her path crosses with Grayson Hawthorn’s, a gorgeous, suit-wearing ex-con whose name she remembered because it was her father who had influenced the severity of his sentence. With a record like his, he was unable to get the loans necessary to help keep his family’s vineyard running. In this, she saw an opportunity, marry him. He gets part of her inheritance and she gets to stick to her father. Win win.

She saw him as a means to an end and was determined not to let her heart be involved. But he saw her as a spoiled rich princess who’d fallen far from her throne. Given the almost antagonistic sparks that flew between them from the start, theirs was planned as a marriage of convenience, and nothing more.

Along the way, these two have tons of misunderstanding and arguments. Each one is holding on to pretty awful misconceptions about the other. Gray is a broken hero and can see past his past to the beauty that could be with Kira.

I love broken heroes that battle back from disaster to find love. At times Gray is so ungrateful and awful that it’s hard to read. At times there isn’t a shred of affection for all that Kira is doing for him, his home and his future.

He does eventually see what he has done, but not before he runs Kira off.
